Jodie Cash lleva el country y el rock sureño en la sangre. No es para menos: creció entre amplificadores y guitarras gracias a su linaje musical, hija de los míticos Los Bombarderos, banda clave de la escena rockera española de los 80 y 90. Desde niña, su banda sonora incluyó a gigantes como Willie Nelson, The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival y Loretta Lynn. De niña, ya se atrevía en fiestas familiares cantando Mama’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys como si hubiera nacido para ello. Spoiler: lo estaba.
Tras curtirse en bandas de country-rock y garage como The Old Weekend Band y The Randles, y experimentar con el doo-wop y el rythm & blues en The Sparkles entre los años 2013 y 2015 Jodie decidió dar el gran salto y lanzar su propio proyecto: Jodie Cash Fingers. Su debut discográfico, Rollin’ Swingin’ (2016), tuvo una acogida inmejorable. Con una mezcla de country rock, rock&roll clásico y un guiño a las rancheras, el álbum la llevó de gira por España y puntos de Europa, con paradas en salas míticas como Apolo y Razzmatazz (Barcelona). El público lo celebró, y los críticos también: medios como Ruta 66 y Popular 1 no dudaron en darle un sólido 8/10, elogiando su capacidad para fusionar los sonidos más genuinos de la música americana con una autenticidad propia.
En 2020, lanzó tres singles, incluido Huella, publicado para el sello discográfico Gateway Records (Nashville), además de un disco en vivo a trío, Sherman Trail Live At El Búho Vol. I (2020), que capturó la esencia cruda de sus conciertos. Después llegó Mil Noches (2021), su primer álbum en español, donde Jodie experimentó con sonidos distintos, toques de flamenco, rancheras y hasta reversionó Take It Easy de The Eagles, dándole un giro personal bajo el título Siempre libre. Con esta fusión de country, rock y un toque de pop, dejó claro que moverse entre géneros no es un reto, sino su estado natural.
Durante su reciente etapa de maternidad, también lanzó el EP recopilatorio Before My Senses (2023), donde mantuvo su conexión con la música y su público. Este nuevo capítulo de su vida personal influyó profundamente en su trabajo más reciente, My Senses (2025), un álbum grabado con la que fuera su banda original en Jodie Cash Fingers. En la producción técnica ha contado con Xavi Ollé (Th’ Booty Hunters) y con Myriam Swanson en la artística. Además, cuenta con Rickie Froutchman al lap steel y repite preciosas líneas de violín con Simone Lambregts, quién ha pintado todo el paisaje de este disco comedido y que está por ver la luz el próximo mes de Abril. El disco marca un claro regreso a sus raíces musicales. Jodie reconoce además que la maternidad ha aportado una nueva perspectiva a su música, haciendo de My Senses un trabajo íntimo que refleja un viaje personal y artístico al que nunca antes había llegado.
Su talento ha sido reconocido con creces: en 2018 fue galardonada como Mejor Artista Nacional de Música Americana por la Spanish Line Dance Association, y ha tenido el honor de abrir para grandes nombres como Stacie Collins y Sara Lee Guthrie.
